Prime accused in Inderlok case commits suicide

New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) The prime accused in the July 31 Inderlok murder case, in which seven members of a family including four children were killed, committed suicide in Tihar jail today.

Sanjay Babu, (28), lodged in Jail No 8 of the prison complex since August 11, was found hanging from the ceiling of his cell at about 1500 hrs by prison jawan, police said.

Police said Babu, a resident of Shastri Nagar, had lunch and had returned to his cell, which he shared with two other inmates, at about 1200 hrs.

At the time of the incident one inmate had been taken to court and the other was sleeping.

Jail officials said the SDM Rajourie garden had been informed and an inquiry had been launched.

''Action will be initiated against negligent officials after the inquiry report is submitted,'' they said.
