Lucknow, Nov 10 (UNI) Ridiculing the claim of BSP president Mayawati that her party electorate voted against the ruling party in the recent mayoral polls, the Samajwadi Party today said it could manage a decent show in civic poll despite the ''BJP-BSP-Congress unity.'' ''It is BSP's manifestation of frustation that the SP, more often dubbed a rural-based party, could make its presence felt in urban bodies election.'' The two SP general secretaries Shivpal Singh Yadav and Ram Gopal Yadav told reporters here.

These parties very well knew what was in store for them in the coming assembly poll, hence they indulge in loose talks to divert the attention of people, they claimed.

Mr Shiv Pal said the party was satisfied with its performance in civic poll and would engage itself in assembly poll preparation with more vigour.

He dismissed the demand of opposition parties like BJP to impose president's rule in UP saying it was upto the Election Commission to conduct polls. ''BJP, Congress and BSP are busy levelling false allegations of misuse of official machinery.'' The SP leaders chose the occasion to announce that BJP legislator from Fatehabad, Agra Chotey Lal Verma today joined the SP along with his supporters. They claimed it would further stregthen the ruling party.
