Mortar recovered in Kohima, panic grips

Kohima, Nov 10 (UNI) Panic gripped Old Ministers' Hill area of Kohima town yesterday after recovery of two live mortars with highly explosive TNT (Trinitrotoluene).

Official sources said the twin mortar shells, with covers, were found by a domestic help in the firewood store.

The person immediately informed the Assam Rifles personnel posted nearby, who in turn informed police.

Sources said police could not confirm whether it was a handiwork of some underground factions or arm smugglers.

Investigation was on to nab the culprits.
