MCX to submit CSE revival report by December end

Kolkata, Nov 10 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) would submit a report to the West Bengal government suggesting ways and means for reviving the ailing Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) by December end.

MCX is waiting for the SEBI to specify the shareholding pattern of regional stock exchanges following demutualisation before giving its recommendations, MCX managing director and CEO Jignesh Shah said here today.

Mr Shah, who had been asked by Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee to find ways to revive the bourse, said the beleaguered exchange could be revived by introduction of more products.

"We will give our report and if asked we will implement it also," Mr Shah said.

Mr Shah, who owns Financial Techonologies, specialises in running and developing solutions for exchanges. Financial Technologies is one of promoters of MCX.
