K'taka HC stays sealing for 8 weeks
Bangalore, Nov 10 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court today stayed for eight weeks the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike's (BMP) action of sealing various residential property in Sadashivanagar here for being used for commercial purposes without getting the required permission.
Mr Justice B S Patil issued the interim injunction separately on each of the writ petitions filed by tenants and landlords of a number of premises, including The Central Bank of India and the Corporation Bank, challenging the action.
The BMP took the action on the grounds of violation of zoning regulations, building bye-laws and provisions of the Karnatka Municipal Corporation Act.
