I want to become Prime Minister for sure: Lalu Prasad

New Delhi, Nov 10: Rashtriya Janata Dal leader and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad has said that he is determined to become the Prime Minister but would not quarrel to get the top job of the country.

''I want to become the Prime Minister for sure...but I will not quarrel for the Prime Ministership. No matter which corner of the country I go people always greet enthusiastically -- it's the greatest of blessings, people love me,'' Mr Prasad said, outlining his future plans in an interview to a private channel.

Though himself accused of criminalising Bihar's politics in his time, the Railway Minister claimed that the Nitish Kumar government has made things worse.

''Nitish Kumar is junior to me, I know him very well. He is nothing...he is a zero...there are two Chief Ministers of Bihar, one Chief Minister from BJP and another from JD(U).'' Regarding the Bihar election results, he said, ''Yes I lost, but by a thin margin. If all the UPA partners were together, we would not have lost. If an election is conducted now, we will sweep. Mulayam Singh Yadav had damaged me there...and I will ensure i will pay him back.'' Asked about the Fodder scam, Mr Prasad brushed it off by claiming that he was being framed. He said that matter was pending before the court.

''That was propaganda against me to tarnish my image, that Lalu Prasad Yadav is so arrogant,'' he said.

Queried if he would join a possible 'third front', Mr Prasad said, ''There is no chance.. I will not shake hands with fascist and communal forces.''
