Govt to train gram panchayat members

Patna, Nov 10 (UNI) The Bihar government today sanctioned the specialised training programme for the newly elected members of Gram Panchayat and Mukhiyas.

In a meeting, the state Cabinet approved the four-day training programme commencing November 17 during which 1,24,339 gram panchayat members would be imparted training.

The Cabinet had also sanctioned Rs 1.48 crore for the programme.

Rs 80 lakh of the total amount had been released as advance.

The Cabinet sanctioned Rs 8.91 crore for setting up Nalanda University in the state.

The state Cabinet also decided to provide financial assistance to the Bihar State Regional Development Authority to compensate for its financial losses incurred due to lower registration.
