Forty injured in train derailment near Kolde
Mumbai, Nov 10: At least forty passengers were injured when a train derailed near Kolde station today.
Western Railway's senior public relation officer Mr Dahi Sarkar said the 113 DN Surat-Bhusawal passenger train got derailed near Kolde station at 0500 hrs.
Forty passengers who were injured in the accident have been admitted to the nearby Nandurbar hospital. However, there are no major casualties in the incident, he assured.
The cause of the accident is not immediately known and the matter is under investigation, he added.
According to latest information available, at least 92 passengers were injured when the train derailed near Kolde station, 10 km from Navapur in Maharashtra today. Resident doctors of the rural hospital in Navapur said that 92 patients have been admitted there. The local primary health centre staff has reached the hospital to render assistance, and the Dhule civil hospital has also been alerted. However, due to the proximity of Surat, they might shift patients there, they said. Medical-aid is being administered to the injured and so far there have been no major casualties, they added.
