CM urges PM to intervene on Saddam's execution
Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 10 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to pressure the US and its ''puppet government'' in Iraq to revoke its decision of hanging former Iraq President Saddam Hussein.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, he said India had always stood for peace. So it should intervene in the issue, a release quoting the Chief Minister said here.
Mr Achuthandan said as a Democratic Country, India's appeal had been well received by other nations and, hence, it should appeal to revoke the decision to execute Saddam.
