Campus interview: IT companies distribute offer letters

Chennai, Nov 10 (UNI) More than seven leading IT companies, which conducted campus interviews at RMK and RMD Engineering Colleges, today distributed offer letters to 82 students.

The city based RMK and RMD Engineering Colleges had organised an Offer Letter Distribution Function and Industry-Institute Partnership recently.

Following this, leading IT companies, including Infosys, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, Syntel, Polaris Software, L&T Info Tech and Siemens recruited the students in large numbers and issued offer letters, a college release here said.

Infosys had recruited 42 students, followed by HCL, 19, Tech Mahindra, nine, Syntel and Polaris, four each L&T Infotech, three, and Siemens one, the release said.

Addressing the function, Infosys Technologies Ltd HR Manager - Campus Recruitment V Varadharaj stressed the need for building industry academia partnership.

He deliberated on the current demand and supply gap, ways to improve the quality of the students and the steps taken by his company for building effective industry academia partnership.

It should be noted that over 33 IT majors and corporates had participated in the campus interviews for 2007 pass outs and had recruited 360 students out of the total students strength of 480.

Among the 360 students, 263 were from RMK Engineering College and 97 were from RMD Engineering College, the release added.
