US impressed with India's handling of Nepal issue

New Delhi, Nov 9: The United States supports the agreement reached between the G P Koirala government and Maoist rebels for restoring lasting peace in Nepal and is impressed with the way India has handled the situation, US Ambassador to India David Mulford said today.

Speaking to reporters here, he said the US was positive about the agreemeent and its outcome and was working closely with the Indian government on the issue.

''We have worked very closely with the Indian government. We are impressed with the way the Indian government had approached the issue. Let us see now how its works,'' the Ambassador said in reply to a question.
