Uma's arrest will be black chapter in MP's history
Bhopal, Nov 9: Suspended BJP leader Sunil Nayak, a staunch supporter of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti, today said in the state assembly that if Ms Bharti was arrested it would be a black chapter in the history of Madhya Pradesh.
Alleging discrepancies in the October 30 Malehra by-poll, Mr Nayak said if Ms Bharti was detained on the charge of attempt to murder, it would be a black day in the history of the state.
Dr Gauri Shankar Shejwar, another confidante of Ms Bharti, who was also suspended from the party recently for alleged indiscipline and anti-party activities, was also present in the House. However, he did not comment over the issue.
Five Uma-supporter BJP leaders -- including Dr Shejwar, Mr Nayak, Mr Jalam Singh Patel, Mr Hukum Singh Chaddar and Mr Rasal Singh -- were suspended from the party for involving in anti-party activities.
The Bharatiya Jan Shakti President is present in the state capital and has announced she will court arrest in connection with a murder case registered against her.
A case was registered against Ms Bharti when a television channel showed her shouting ''shoot that man'' -- allegedly referring to a BJP leader -- at the fag end of polling in Malehra on October 30.
Ms Bharti had brushed aside the insinuation and claimed that she was asking a stringer to ''shoot that man'' who was committing some electoral malpractice.
