Trader critical after immolation bid
New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) A 60-year-old trader was today battling for life in hospital after he made a self-immolation bid in the Jafarpur Kalan area of South-West Delhi yesterday.
Wazir Chand, the owner of a photo studio in Uttam Nagar, had poured kerosene on himself and set himself ablaze in the Jafarpur Kalan area near a bus stop, said the police.
He was rushed to the Safdarjung Hospital with 70 per cent burns where his condition was stated critical.
According to Chand, he had taken this extreme step due to domestic problems, the police said.
However, sources said his family told reporters that Chand, a resident of Tilak Nagar, was upset over the sealing drive, the statement which the police denied.
