TN constitutes Special Task Force for Industries
Chennai, Nov 9: Tamil Nadu Government has constituted a Special Task Force (STF) to resolve disputes in trade and industry and facilitate uninterrupted growth of industries in the State.
The STF would be headed by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and would have industrialists and representatives from various industry associations as its members.
Chief Secretary L K Tripathy would be the Vice-chairman of the STF.
The members of the Task Force include Industrialists M A M Ramaswamy, TVS Motor Company CMD Venu Srinivasan, India Cements Vice-President and Managing Director N Srinivasan, Arooran Sugar Mills MD Ram V Thiagarajan and Madras Cements Chairman P R Ramasubrahmaniya Rajha.
The Industries representatives included Chemical Industries Association President P K N Panikkar, Council for Leather Exports Chairman M Rafeeque Ahmed, South India Sugar Mills Association President M Manickam, Tiruppur Exporters Association President A Sakthivel, All India Industries Federation State President Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, South India Mills Association President S V Arumugam and Components Manufacturers Association President V Ramachandran.
The release said Finance and Commercial Tax departments Secretaries would be the ex-officio members of the Task Force and Industries Secretary will be the member-secretary.
