Security intensified at Peelamedu airport

Coimbatore, Nov 9 (UNI) Security was further beefed up at Peelamedu airport here, following the receipt of an anonymous letter at Tiruchirapalli airport yesterday stating that al-Qaeda terrorists had planned car-bomb attacks on airports.

CISF sources said the airport had been provided with additional force and the CISF personnel had been asked to maintain strict vigil around the airport.

Police said they had intensified security all over the city and striking forced had been deployed at prime locations.
