SC dismisses IG Panda's petition

New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) The Supreme Court today dismissed a review petition filed by former Uttar Pradesh Inspector General of Police DK Panda alias Radha challenging the judgement of the Allahabad High Court directing him to pay maintainence of Rs 6,700 per month to his wife.

The bench headed by Justice B N Aggarwal dismissed the petition on the ground that it was 'wholly misconceived' and was devoid of merit.

Earlier, Panda had challenged the order of maintenance on the ground that his pension had been wrongly calculated and as the amount was more than his income, he was not in a position to comply with the order of the court.
