Rupee opens lower at 44.72/73 per USD

Mumbai, Nov 9: The rupee today opened lower by three paise and was quoted at Rs 44.72/73 per US dollar as compared to it's previous close of Rs 44.69 per USD, due to a stronger Yen, a money market trader said.

Later, the domestic currency rose to Rs 44.6750 per USD, and is now trading high at Rs 44.6750/6750 per USD on some good demand in dollar, by local operators and banks, forex dealers added.
