Priyanka leads under-ll chess championship

Chennai, Nov 9 (UNI) Priyanka Kumari (7) of Jharkand is head and shoulder above all others in the girls section of the Sri Ramachandra Medical College-Ramco Group-CPCL 20th National Under-11 Chess Championship here today.

She had two victories today and she was being followed by three players -B Pratyusha 7 (AP), Srinidhi Nagarajan 7 (TN) and Soumya Srivatsav 7 (Mah) .

In the boys section, the previous winner of the World Under-10 title Sahaj Grover (7.5) (Delhi) was able to collect only half-a-point out of two games he played today. This unexpected turn of event pushed him back to share the joint lead with five others - G V Sai Krishna (AP), Fenil Shah (Guj), Vian D'Cunha (Kar), Ajay Srikanth (TN) and Shardul A Gagare.
