President should turn down Afzal Guru's clemency plea: Advani

Ahmedabad, Nov 9 (UNI) Former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today reiterated that clemency plea of Mohammed Afzal Guru, who has been sentenced to death for the attack on Parliament, should be rejected by President A P J Abdul.

Mr Advani was speaking at a function to mark Purshottam Rupala's taking over as Gujarat Bharatiya Janata Party president from Vajubhai Vala here this evening.

When killers of former prime ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi were hanged to death, why should there be different yard stick for Afzal, Mr Advani questioned.
