Power generation in NE comes down
Agartala, Nov 09 (UNI) The power production in the entire North Eastern region has considerably come down following reduction of water levels in various water reservoirs used for Hydel power projects.
According to a release by the Tripura state Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) here today, water levels in hydel power generation sources came down due to deficit rainfall this year in the entire NE region causing a shortfall in power production and forced Tripura to raise the period of load shedding in the evening.
Besides, another reason for increasing load shedding was that the Ranganadi Hydel Power project in Arunachal Pradesh would remain closed for ten days with immediate effect as urgent repairing tasks had been taken up.
The TSECL sought cooperation from its consumers and regretted for inconvenience, it added.
