Police ASI in ACB net
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Nov 9 (UNI) Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today caught an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) red handed, while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,900 at Sillod, a tehsil town in the district.
According to ACB sources, the ASI Bhaginath Laxman Thorat, attached to the Sillod Police Station, had allegedly demanded the bribe for settling a dispute.
Acting on a complaint filed by Sukhdeo Ramrao Sapkal, the ACB team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP-ACB) Pravin Kulkarni, laid a trap for the ASI and caught him red handed while accepting the bribe, ACB sources said.
An offence has been registered against the ASI with the Sillod Police Station, ACB sources added.
