MP,UP sign pact on transportation
New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) The transport departments of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh today signed an MoU which provides that private bus operators will be free to operate their buses on the national highways. of both states after the closure of MP State Raod transport Corporation (MPSRTC).
With the signing of this MoU, the citizens of Madhya Pradesh will face no problem in travelling to diffeent parts of the two states after the closure of the MPSRTC, says an MP Government release.
A similar agreement had been signed by the two states in 1980 and again in 1994, but it had been stayed by the High Court in 1994. Now after 12 years, this significant MoU will provide relief to the common citizens of both the states,according to the release.
The MoU was signed by the Principal Secretaries for Transport of both the states.
