JBOA call off eight-day long strike
Ranchi, Nov 09 (UNI) The bus owners of Jharkhand today called off their eight-day-long strike against steep increase in permit tax by the Bihar government.
President of Jharkhand Bus owners Association Krishna Mohan Singh told UNI that the strike has been called off following an assurance by the Bihar government to give permanent permit to the bus owners of Jharkhand adding an agreement in this regard would be signed on November 13 by both the governments.
The Jharkhand private bus owners from November 1 had launched an indefinite strike protesting the hike in road taxes by the Bihar government, affecting more than 800 buses throughout the state.
The Bihar government had raised the temporary road permit taxes from Rs 8,750 to 43,000 for three months on the buses coming from other states.
