Gold and Silver plunge on weak global advices
Mumbai, Nov 9: Gold plunged by Rs 132 and silver slid by Rs 122 at close on the Bombay Bullion Exchange today on weak global advices.
Spot silver .999 fineness variety opened low at Rs 18,919 per kg on thin buying support. Later, it fell further and closed at Rs 18,900 per kg with a loss of Rs 122 from yesterday's close.
In London, the white metal was quoted steady at USD 12.54/12.60 per troy ounce against USD 12.60/12.63 per troy ounce in New York.
Standard gold (99.5) and pure gold (99.9) opened weak at Rs 8,997 and Rs 9,046 per ten grams respectively.
However, the yellow metal eased further and closed at Rs 8,964 and Rs 9,012 per ten gm with a loss of Rs 128 for standard gold and Rs 132 for pure gold from its last close.
In London, the yellow metal was low at USD 618/620 per troy ounce as compared to USD 620/625 per troy ounce at New York on Wednesday.
Following are the spot silver and gold closing prices: Silver (per kg) .999 grade : Rs 18,900 (19,022) Gold (per 10 gm): Standard mint 99.5 purity : Rs 8,964 (9,092) Pure gold 99.9 purity : Rs 9,012 (9,144).
