Former Windies opener Asgarali dead
Port of Spain, Nov 9 (UNI) Former West Indies opener Nyron Asgarali has died after suffering a fall at his home, media reports said here today.
The 85-year-old batsman from Trinidad&Tobago played just two Tests for West Indies in 1957 in England during a two-decade-long first-class career.
After he retired from the game, Asgarali served in various capacities with the T&T Cricket Board, and served as liaison officer to the visiting international sides.
Asgarali's funeral is scheduled today at the Trinity Cathedral in the capital.
