Farooq Abdullah's possible return to politics suprises all
Jammu, Nov 9 (UNI) National Conference patron and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah has decided to return to state politics very soon.
This has taken politicians, bureaucrats and even the common people by surprise.
Talking to media persons at an Eid-Diwali milan party hosted by him and son Omar at their residence here last evening, Dr Abdullah refused to comment on the present political scenario with regard to the differences between the Congress and the PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) over the latter's self-rule proposal. About Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's reservations, Dr Abdullah assertively stated, ''Mein aaya, mein aaya. Mein jammu aaya, mein Srinagar aaya.'' ''When the relationship between two major coalition partners, Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party are not in a good phase, Dr Abdullah's statement is very important,'' remarked a senior politician in the party.
On the issue of the Democrats leading the race in the US Congressional elections, Dr Abdullah commented, ''I am happy that the election verdict is in the favour of Democrats. I welcome their victory.'' UNI HGV PB MIR BS1807
