CPM asks govt. to sever military ties with Israel

New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) The CPI (M) today denounced the killing of 18 Palestinian civilians, including nine children, by Israeli troops in Beit Hanoun town in Gaza yesterday and urged the government to sever military ties with ''such a regime''.

Israel has become immune to criticism about the atrocities committed on Palestinians, the party polit bureau said in a statement.

The UN Security Council must immediately need to impose sanctions on Israel, it added.

The polit bureau also criticised the UPA government for ''refusing to face up to the fact that Israel is an outlaw state which is illegally occupying and oppressing the Palestinian people''.

The statement added: ''The least it can do at this juncture is to sever military and security cooperation ties with such a regime.'' Among the 18 dead were 14 of a family, mostly women and children.
