Cong hails move to include Maoists in Nepalese Govt

New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) The Congress today hailed the agreement reached between Seven Party Alliance and Maoists in Nepal as a wise decision on the part of Maoists to surrender arms and join the Nepalese mainstream politics.

"We hope the decision of the Maoists would encourage others who believe in politics of violence to give up arms and join the mainstream politics to serve the people in a peaceful democratic way", Congress General Secretary and Chairman of the Media Department Janardan Dwivedi said .

"In democracy gun has no role to play",he said in a release issued here."The Indian National Congress also hopes Nepal would now achieve a stable democratic constitutional order so that people of Nepal realised their aspirations of a peaceful and properous country without fear of any intimidation." The Congress, he said, looked forward to seeing a comprehensive peace agreement to be signed by the Government of Nepal and the CPN (Maoists)as decided yesterday.

The party congratulated the Govenment and the people of Nepal for this historic decision.
