Centre sanctions additional capital for Bina Extension project
New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) The Centre today gave its approval for sanctioning of additional capital investment of Rs 168.97 crore for the Bina Extension Opencast Project (six million tonnes per annum).
''This is as per additional OB outsourcing option, excluding Rs 366.99 crore of existing capital on account of trasfer of assets of existing Bina mine (4.5 MTPA) on this exhaustion for gainful utilisation in Bina Extension OCP,'' Finance Minister P Chidambaram told mediapersons after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).
He said six million tonnes per year of non-coking coal would be produced for being used in thermal power plants.
The coal output from Bina Extension OCP is inked to Anpara (1630 MW) and Obra TPS (1550 MW) of Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd and Indraprasth Thermal Power Station, here.
Bina Extension block is the southern part of North-Eastern part of Moher sub-basin of Singrauli Coalfields in the dip side of existing Bina block.
