Centre extends ban on ULFA, HNLC

New Delhi, Nov 9: The Centre today announced its decision to extend the ban on a few militant outfits, including the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA).

Finance Minister P Chidambaram told mediapersons afer a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, that it had been decided the extend the ban on National Democratic Front of Bodoland and Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) also.

The ban on these outlawed organisations is to expire this month.
