CCS positive on Foreign Sec level Indo-Pak talks
New Delhi, Nov 9: The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) today ''broadly approved'' the approach to the Foreign Secretary level Indo-Pak talks to be held here on November 14-15.
Briefing reporters on the decisions taken at the CCS meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Finance Minister P Chidambaram said the approach to the Indo-Pak technical talks on joint survey of Sir Creek was also approved.
The Foreign Secretary level talks, which had been stalled in the wake of the July 11 serial terror blasts in Mumbai, would review the progress in the composite dialogue.
It would also go into the question of setting up a joint institutional mechanism to combat terrorism as agreed upon between Dr Singh and Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf at Havana on the sidelines of the NAM summit in September.
