CBI initiates 'reply' in Lalu's DA case
Patna, Nov 9 (UNI) The CBI today initiated its reply before a special court here in the Disproportionate Assets (DA) case pending against Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi.
During his reply argument, deputy law advisor of CBI L R Ansari said Ms Rabri Devi had submitted her income tax return to aid her husband in the DA case.
The IT return was submitted in October 1996, when Patna High Court directed the CBI and Income Tax department to take action regarding the assets of the accused in the fodder scam, he added.
The CBI further contended that the state government during the regime of then Chief Minister Lalu Prasad, was not in favour of investigation of cases related to the fodder scam by the CBI. The reply would continue tomorrow.
