Caste certifcate for general category students

Bhopal, Nov 9 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani today asked the government to issue notifications to the district collectors directing them to issue caste certificate to needy candidates in view of the Army requiring caste certificate even from general category students.

Raising the issue during the Question Hour, Mr Meherban Singh (BJP) said caste certificate was sought from general category students seeking recruitment into the Army.

Due to the difficulty in its availability, several candidates could not appear for recruitment.

Revenue Minister Kamal Patel said there was no provision for issuing caste certificate to general category students. However, a proof certificate was being provided by tehsil and collectors's office in view of the Army asking for caste certificates.

The Speaker directed the Revenue Minister to issue notifications to the district collectors directing them to issue caste certificate to the needy candidates.
