Cabinet defers discussion on rising prices
New Delhi, Nov 9: The Cabinet Committee on Prices (CCP) today deferred its discussion on the rising prices of essential commodities as the report on inflation was available only late last night.
Briefing reporters on the deliberations of the CCP, Finance Minister P Chidambaram told reporters that the issue would now be taken up later.
The CCP, however, approved a request of strife-torn Sri Lanka for the export of 2,000 metric tonnes of masoor dal and 200 metric tonnes of green gram on humanitarian grounds.
