By-election in Roing Assembly constituency on December 4

Itanagar, Nov 9 (UNI) The Election Commission will hold the by-election for the 43-Roing Assembly seat, in the Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh, on December 4 next.

A formal notification in this regard will be issued tomorrow, according to a release of the office of state chief electoral officer.

The last date for filing nominations is fixed on November 17 while scrutiny of nominations will be next day and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 20.

Counting of votes is scheduled to be held on December 7, the release said.

The Roing Assembly seat fell vacant due to the resignation of Mukut Mithi, former chief minister and legislator, on his appointment as Lt Governor of Pondichery.
