BSP leader shot dead, another killed in retaliation

Lucknow, Nov 9 (UNI) Two people, including a BSP leader, were today killed over a property dispute under Chandpur area of Bijnore district in Uttar Pradesh.

Home department special secretary Kamal Saxena said here this evening, BSP leader and ex-pradhan Balvir Singh of Shekhpur village had a dispute with some people over a ration shop, following which he was shot.

Later in retaliation, another person Dunger Singh was killed by the supporters of the slain BSP leader. Four houses were also torched by them.

Meanwhile, police had been deployed in the area in wake of the tension. The situation was said to be tense but under control.
