K'taka: BJP activists burn Sonia's effigy

Hubli, Nov 9: Activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here today burnt effigies of Congress President Sonia Gandhi at Dharwad and Hubli in protest against the non-inclusion of the twin cities in the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).

The agitators accused Ms Gandhi of falsely promising the people of Karnataka recently that the twin cities would be included in the scheme. Even after her promise in Bangalore, the Centre had not included the twin cities in the scheme.
