Another anti-liquor drive in Manipur
Imphal, Nov 9 (UNI) Earlier a major women's movement in Manipur state declared Manipur as a dry state and now the All Manipur Anti Drug Association (AMADA) has started another anti-liqour drive.
AMADA executive member Rabango Mangang said several people, who were involved in illegal liquor trade and use of local brew for commercial purposes have been traced and controlled.
The AMADA had also asked them to apologise to the public and declare in the local dailies not to repeat such activities.
According to sources, huge quantity of spurious liquor was smuggled from Myanmar through Moreh, the border town at Chandel district.
The AMADA volunteers were maintaining vigil on the national highway and its members were able to seize illegal liqour, sources added.
