Vajpayee expresses satisfaction on UP Results

New Delhi, Nov 8: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today asked the party workers to be ready for the coming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Expressing satisfaction over the performance of the BJP in UP local elections, Mr Vajpayee thanked the people of the state and the cadre for having worked for the party tirelessly under adverse conditions but asked them to be prepared for the forthcoming assembly elections next year.

Mr Vajpayee also conveyed his pleasure to party president Rajnath Singh on the party's performance in Uttar Pradesh who called on the former Prime Minister this morning.

Later he also spoke to BJP's UP state President Kesari Nath Tripathi, former chief minister Kalyan Singh and other leaders.

He asked them to be united in the coming days to win the confidence of the people and ensure the party's return to power in the state.
