Subramanyam Swamy summoned by MP court
Indore, Nov 8 (UNI) A local court has summoned Janata Party President Subramanyam Swamy in connection with his allegation against Congress President Sonia Gandhi in the wake of last year's Volcker report over the oil-for-food scam in Iraq.
Issuing the summons yesterday, Judicial Magistrate Usha Gedam directed the Commissioner of Police, Delhi, to serve it.
Indore-resident Ashok Jaiswal, represented by Advocate Shailendra Dwivedi, sued Mr Swamy for defamation. On February 7, 2006, a case was registered under sections 495 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code.
December 18 was fixed as the next date of hearing.
