Punjab dazzle in day one vs Uttar Pradesh

Jamshedpur, Nov 8 (UNI) Punjab batsmen relished the Uttar Pradesh mediocre bowling attack by piling up 370 for 5 on the first day of the three-day Cooch Behar trophy (Under-19) elite group match at Armoury ground here today.

Electing to bat on a placid wicket, the four Punjab batsmen slammed half-centuries.

Gurkirat Singh scored the highest 84 followed by Sunny Singh (75) and Bipan Kumar (74). Ravinder Singh also hit 61.

For Uttar Pradesh Abhisek Tiwary and Mohammad Khalid scalped two each conceding 113 and 74 runs respectively.

Bhupinder Singh got another wicket.
