Pallam assures Centre's assistance on improving roads in HP
Shimla, Nov 8 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam has assured the Centre's continued assistance to Himachal Pradesh in maintaining the roads in the tribal districts of the state, an official spokesman today said.
The discussions between the Centre and the state government mainly revolved around maintenance and development of Manali-Sarchu, Tandi-Sansari, Hindustan-Tibet and Dhami-Kiongal roads, he said here.
The spokesman said Deepak Project Chief Engineer Brig K P Singh briefed Mr Pallam on the ongoing works on the roads in the tribal areas besides construction of tunnels at Rohtang, Khdradhang and Malling areas of Kinnuar district.
The Union Minister of State for Defence also visited the Pooh Sector to garner information on the road works being undertaken there, he said.
The spokesman said Mr Pallam was here to assess the situation of roads in the tribal districts of the state before Border Roads Development Board Meeting on November 20.
