NCP workers burn Aussie captain Ponting in effigy

Surat, Nov 8 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party Surat district unit today staged a protest rally to condemn the insulting behaviour of Australian team against NCP chief and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar during the presentation ceremony of the Champions Trophy.

Party workers gathered near Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's statue at Udhna Darwaja area in the city this evening and burned Australian captain Ricky Ponting in effigy.

The party workers raised slogans against the Aussies and demanded an unconditional apology from the team.
