NCP to agitation demanding AFSPA's repeal

Imphal, Nov 8 (UNI) Demanding repeal of the controversial Armed Forces Special Powers Act 1958, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), ruling UPA's alliance, will stage demonstrations on November 23.

NCP workers of Manipur unit will be leaving for New Delhi to participate in a sit in protest on November 23 at the Jantar Mantar.

Former Speaker P A Sangma, former Chief Minister Radhabinod Koijam and also NCP state unit president along with other senior party members would take part in the protest, NCP party sources here said.

Some NCP leaders also met Irom Sharmila, who was on a fast unto death since 200. Irom had been detained by Delhi Police and 'forcibly' nasal fed at the AIIMS, the sources said.
