Lightning claims ten lives in Marathwada
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Nov 8 (UNI) Lightning claimed ten lives, three women and two children, and injured nine people in different parts of Marathwada during last 24 hours, divisional commissionerate sources said here today.
Most of the victims were working in fields when lightning struck, the sources said.
With these deaths, the total toll due to lightning since May this year has reached 248.
The sources said in Aurangabad district four people were killed and one injured seriously, while three in Jalan district people lost them life and eight sustained injuries.
Three people, including two women, were killed in Keij taluka of Beed district last afternoon.
The Marathwada region experienced heavy rain, accompanied by hailstorms, during last 24 hours.
