Khajuria elected new Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief
Jammu, Nov 8 (UNI) Soon after being elected as Jammu and Kashmir BJP president, Mr Ashok Khajuria today vowed to expose the ''pro-militant approach'' of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and his predecessors, Mr Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mr Farooq Abdullah.
Talking to reporters here at the state BJP headquarters, Mr Khajuria said, ''Mr Sayeed is singing his self-rule song, Mr Abdullah is talking about greater autonomy while the chief minister is in favour of both the demands, which are against the national interest.'' Mr Khajuria, who was elected unopposed, accused ''the trio'' of being sympathisers of the militants.
''NC (National Conference), Congress and PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) were in power for long but they have never taken any concrete step to check militancy. Due to this approach the state has witnessed a recent spurt in militant activities,'' he said.
Earlier, senior BJP leader and national observer for the election, Mr Brij Lal Rinwa, announced the election of Mr Khajuria as the new state unit chief.
Dr Nirmal Singh, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, Babu Parmanand, Daya Krishan Kotwal, Lalit Kumar Moza and Sofi Mohammad Yousuf were elected unopposed to the national council of the party by the state unit.
