IMME in Kolkata from Nov 22-25

Kolkata, Nov 08 (UNI) The 8th International Mining and Machinery Exhibition 2006 would be held here from November 22 to 25.

The event is being organised by CII in association with the Ministry of Mines and Ministry of Coal.

It coincides with the positive changes in the mining sector and the upcoming mining policy likely to suggest a host of measures for the sector, CII's mining and construction equipment division chairman V R S Natarajan told reporters.

Apart from the coal and iron ore sectors, special emphasis would be given to base and precious metals sectors this time, Mr Natarajan said.

Australia is the partner country in the seminar and it would be represented by 14 mining equipment manufacturers.

Representatives from Germany, Poland and UK would also be showcasing their latest products and technologies for the mining and mineral sectors during IMME 2006.
