General Dynamics to open office in Delhi
New Delhi, Nov 8 (UNI) US-based 24 billion dollars General Dynamics (GD) today said it has made a formal application to the Reserve Bank of India to open a liaison office here to tap the country's potential defence sector.
The office will also facilitate meetings among appropriate representatives of GD, the government and potential partners.
''As India embarks on strengthening its defence system, we are keen to learn more about the needs of the Indian Armed Forces and other elements of the Government of India and identify opportunities where our expertise may be of value in meeing India's objectives,'' General Dynamics Vice President (International) Willian O Schmeider said.
Mr Schmeider said that the office in India will provide local representation and pursue opportunities to supply defence-related products and services to the government.
General Dynamics, integrated defece provider provider, deals in four main business segments, the largest of which is the Information Systems and Technology group.
