Five persons killed as van hits tree

Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 8 (UNI) Five persons were killed and 23 injured, five of them seriously when their van hit a tree near Gudagundemmetta village of Allagadda mandal here today.

Police said the van was proceeding from Vanaparthi in Mahaboob Nagar district to Nellore, carrying the daily labourers, when the mishap occurred.

Four persons were killed on the spot and one on way to the government hospital. The five seriously injured persons were admitted to Kurnool Government hospital.
