CPI(M) urges govt to take speedy relief measures
Chennai, Nov 8 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu CPI(M) unit today urged the state government to undertake urgent relief measures in flood affected areas and provide compensation to farmers for damaged crops.
In a statement here, CPI(M) State Secretary N Varadharajan said the North East monsoon rains had flooded several lakes and ponds.
Rivers are in spate and crops submerged in many areas. Several residential areas had also come under water, causing hardship to the people.
